AI Engineering Intern

What you’ll actually work on

We’ll choose a project together around what interests you. If you want to work on model strategy, we can work on model strategy. If you’re more interested in how people interact with an agent, we can build that. We want you working on a problem you want to solve.

You’ll develop your ideas, write the code to try them and work out whether they help. You’ll have access to the product, its data and the people building it. The aim is to take something you’re interested in and turn it into an improvement we can use.

How we work

• Direct collaboration. You’ll work alongside the CTO on the agents and the software around them. Expect hands-on work, direct feedback and plenty of technical discussion.
• Take initiative. Come with ideas, start experiments and investigate things you don’t understand. We’ll help you work through the difficult parts.
• Test your thinking. Build an approach, see what happens and understand the result. Change direction when the evidence calls for it.
• Follow through. Stay involved as your work becomes part of the product. Learn what happens when other people start using it.
• Hard work. This is going to be a demanding internship. Some ideas won’t work, and some problems will take persistence. You’ll build a lot of cool shit with us, and you’ll have to put the work in.

You might be a great fit if

• You’re very enthusiastic about AI and have things you want to try.
• You have some programming experience and have started building or experimenting. Show us what you’ve tried and what you learned.
• You’re a self-starter who wants to understand a problem and get on with solving it.
• You’re prepared to learn unfamiliar things, take feedback and keep going when it gets hard.
• You want to push yourself. MBO, HBO, WO or self-taught: curiosity, initiative and effort matter more to us than your educational background.

This probably isn’t for you if

• You’re looking for an easy placement with little hands-on work.
• You need a complete set of instructions before you’ll try an idea.
• You lose interest as soon as an experiment needs debugging or further work.

Practical details

4–6 months, starting date flexible, based at our Amsterdam office with hybrid working. €500–750 per month.

Meewerk- and afstudeerstages are welcome. We’ll work with you to find a project that fits your interests and any requirements from your school.
